Can I include a scholarship or grant as part of my annual income?

Include it as income if it’s available for living costs like rent, not if it’s tuition-only.

Short answer: yes, with one thing to check.

If you receive a scholarship, grant, or bursary that you can access and put toward living expenses, you’re welcome to include it as part of your annual income on your Padder application.

When to include it and when not to

  • Include it if the funds are available to you and can go toward living costs.
  • Please don’t include it if it can only be used for tuition and school fees. Since those funds aren’t available to cover living expenses, they shouldn’t be counted as income on your Padder application.
