How checkout works for Padder Deposit
How signing and payment work when you check out your standalone Padder Deposit policy.
For a standalone Padder Deposit application, one person — the primary applicant — completes checkout for the whole lease. Here's how signing and payment work. For the full flow, see How to Apply for Padder Deposit.
-
Review your order: After you enter your building, unit (optional), lease start date and monthly base rent, you'll see your one-time Padder Deposit premium for the lease. Press 'Make Payment' to go to checkout. 'Review your order' shows your address, move-in date, the premium, 8% Ontario Retail Sales Tax, the card processing fee if you pay by card, and the total. Use 'Edit' if anything is wrong.
-
Sign and accept the terms: Tick the two boxes. The first accepts the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. The second opens your Padder Deposit agreement: scroll to the end, type your full legal name and press 'Agree & Sign'. The 'Purchase Policy' button unlocks once both boxes are ticked.
-
Pay your premium: Pay by Interac e-Transfer (free) or by credit or debit card. For e-Transfer, generate your reference code at checkout, send the transfer to payments@padder.com with the code in the message field, then click "I've sent the transfer". We confirm receipt within 48 hours. For card, a 2.4% processing fee applies and is shown in your order review, and your card is charged when you press 'Purchase Policy'. If you're applying for Padder Guarantor + Deposit together, see How checkout works for Padder Guarantor.
-
You're covered: Once your payment is confirmed, your policy is issued. Your receipt shows the premium, tax and, for card payments, the processing fee, and your policy document is emailed to you. Your landlord receives confirmation that Padder Deposit is in place, so they don't collect a Last Month's Rent deposit from you.
