What is Padder Guarantor and what are my payment responsibilities?

Padder Guarantor is an insurance policy, with your landlord as the beneficiary, that you choose to purchase to help qualify for housing when you don’t meet traditional screening criteria. The policy provides rent loss protection to your landlord if you default on your lease—but it does not cover your rent payments. You remain fully responsible for paying rent and meeting all lease obligations.

If you default and Padder reimburses your landlord under the policy, you’ll be required to repay Padder for the amount paid. The one-time, non-refundable fee you pay is the premium for this coverage—it is not a security deposit or replacement for last months' rent.
